About the Charlotte Business Guild
The Charlotte Business Guild was formed in 1992 by a group of gay men and lesbians who were looking for a way to meet other like-minded professionals in the business community. Since then, the Guild has grown in numbers. Specifically, it has become an organization of attorneys, bankers, educators, accountants, physicians, computer specialists, therapists, salespeople, counselors – people from nearly every profession, career and walk of life. Some of us are our own boss, some of us work for others and some of us may be temporarily unemployed! As a member of the Charlotte Business Guild, you will be part of a closely-knit network of gay and lesbian professionals. Many members do business with each other and refer their customers, friends, family, etc. to other Guild members
Guild members often share their area of expertise when speaking at our monthly dinner meetings. The dinner meetings have also included nationally prominent speakers including Billy Bean, Greg Louganis, Candice Gingrich, Steve Gunderson, Elizabeth Birch and David Mixner.
Many members of the Charlotte Business Guild are active in the workplace serving on diversity councils and advocating non-discrimination policies. Others are active personally, striving to be positive role models and ambassadors to Charlotte’s gay and lesbian community.
